We are looking for a skilled Software Consultant – RPG with hands-on experience in developing and maintaining applications using RPG on AS400 (IBM iSeries) systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of business processes in the Insurance domain, coupled with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications written in RPG (IV, ILE, or Free format) on AS400 systems.
- Work closely with business analysts and domain experts to understand insurance-related requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform system analysis, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and implementation of software applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Support system integration and data migration efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across IT and business units.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in RPG programming (RPG IV/ILE/Free format).
- Solid experience working on AS400 (IBM iSeries) platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Insurance domain workflows, terminology, and processes.
- Experience in debugging, performance tuning, and batch job management on AS400.
- Familiarity with CL, DB2/400, and SQL.
- Working knowledge using PCML.
- Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing applications.
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile practices.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a client-facing or consulting environment.
- Knowledge of modernization tools for RPG/AS400 systems.
- Exposure to the integration of legacy systems with modern applications or APIs.
